Stocks end higher, erase early loss as investors shrug off G-7 tensions
Stocks erased early losses to end slightly higher Friday, shaking off worries about rising trade tensions on display as leaders of the Group of Seven advanced economies met in Canada. The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended with a gain of around 75 points, or 0.3%, according to preliminary figures, while the S&P 500 also rose 0.3% and the Nasdaq Composite advanced 0.1%. For the week, the S&P 500 rose 1.6%, while the Nasdaq, which hit all-time highs earlier in the week, rose 1.2%. The Dow posted a 2.8% weekly gain.
