Walmart Inc. unveiled a revamped e-commerce site early Tuesday that includes “relatable” photography and more local and personalized features such as online grocery and easy re-order. A new home specialty section has already launched, and a new destination for fashion that will include the Lord & Taylor store announced last year is coming soon. Lord & Taylor is part of the Hudson’s Bay Co. portfolio of stores. According to Marc Lore, CEO of Walmart U.S. e-commerce, who announced the new website in a blog post, the company considered customer feedback and input from brands selling on the site during the redesign process. Brands will be able to “seamlessly” integrate their ads into the new site, he wrote. Walmart shares are up 0.5% in premarket trading, but down 12.1% for the year so far. The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 0.6% for 2018 to date.
