Cooper Tire CFO Ginger Jones to retire to focus on board roles

Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. said Monday that Chief Financial Officer Ginger Jones has decided to retire “later this year,” after joining the company about 3 1/2 years ago. The tire maker said it has initiated a search, involving external and internal candidates, for a successor. Jones joined the company as CFO in December 2014 from Plexus Corp. . She said she will focus on serving on the boards of public companies after she retires. Separately, mining and chemicals company Tronox Ltd. said Monday it named Jones to its board of directors. Jones currently serves on the Libbey Inc.’s board. Cooper Tire’s stock, which was still inactive in premarket trade, had tumbled 17.8% year to date through Friday, while the S&P 500 had slipped 2.6%.
