Angeblich geht es um sage und schreibe über 10 Milliarden Dollar. Fragt sich nur, warum ein Unternehmen, das sich bislang eher auf Social-Media-Plattformen wie Facebook und Instagram fokussiert hat, plötzlich so tief in die Welt der künstlichen Intelligenz eintauchen will? Die Antwort liegt im Detail – oder besser gesagt, in den Daten.

Scale AI, ein brillanter Fall für „Moment mal…“, liefert professionelle Datenkennzeichnung für Schwergewichte wie Microsoft und OpenAI. Alexandr Wang, der CEO von Scale AI, begann seine Reise als jugendlicher Tech-Fan und ist heute der jüngste selbstgemachte Milliardär der Welt. Ein Kind der zeitgenössischen Tech-Wüste, das seinen Sprung ins Big Data-Geschäft mit einer Verve geschafft hat, die einem Silicon-Valley-Drehbuch entlehnt sein könnte. Interessanterweise belächelten seine Probleme mit den Arbeitsrichtlinien des Arbeitsministeriums die robusten Wachstumszahlen des Unternehmens ausnahmsweise nicht.

Hier wird es spannend: Scale AI hat mit Meta an einem speziellen Projekt gearbeitet, dem hochgeheimen Defense Llama! Trotz (oder wegen?) seiner militärischen Komfortzone, stieß Defense Llama bei Experten offensichtlich auf Gelächter und Kopfschütteln.
