At least two explosions have been heard in the eastern Afghan city of Jalalabad, according to journalists and residents in the area.
Reuters news agency said one of its reporters heard at least two explosions, followed by gunshots, on Tuesday in an area close to shops and government offices.
The Afghan news website, Tolo News, also reported the explosions, citing local residents. Tolo added that officials have not confirmed the reports.
“Explosion heard close the the Provincial Central Hospital and department for migrants and refugees,” Tolo tweeted. “Gunfire also heard, local residents confirm, but officials have yet to [say] anything.”
The blasts are the latest in a series that hit Jalalabad in recent weeks, killing and wounding dozens of people.
