Sinclair says Fox unit is one of the purchasers of TV stations being sold as part of Tribune deal

Sinclair Broadcast Group Inc. said Wednesday that Fox Broadcasting Co. is a purchaser, along with Standard Media Group, LLC (an affiliate of Standard General L.P.), Meredith Corporation , Howard Stirk and Cunningham Broadcasting Corporation, of certain TV stations it is selling as part of its acquisition of Tribune Media Co., in a deal valued at $4.6 billion after divestitures. Sinclair said in April it was selling about 23 stations to a group of buyers, one of which was not disclosed at the time. Sinclair is expecting the closing to happen near the end of the second quarter or early in the third quarter. Sinclair shares were not yet active premarket, but have fallen 23% in the last 12 months, while the S&P 500 has gained 11%.
